ARTIST’S STATEMENT
I paint, because this is the only way in which part of my soul can exist. It is like a meditation to approach the deepest levels of my soul, intuitively striving to reveal what is impossible to depict. This is akin to a process of alchemy, which prompts me to search for gold, but essentially transforms my soul. For me, painting means not only delighting in my existence, but also in the joy of self-expression!
My art has an intuitive appeal; I don’t tell the viewer what to think and feel.
I allow viewer to be!
I paint in an abstract style, using layers, characterised by transparency, lightness, fluidity and gentle expression, which allow me to sense the presence of movement.
My artistic language allows the viewer to immerse himself in a multi-layered world of characters and feelings and to sense his own personal inner journey.
A visitor to one of my exhibitions once wrote in the guest book that, “I entered the exhibition and experienced a miracle! I felt something vibrating so much, that I caught hold of the tips of my feelings and thoughts. Your work has so many layers that it can shake, charge and fulfill…”
According to another visitor, “Your works are characterised by expansiveness in terms of their space, colour and multiple meanings, and thus form a uniform whole. The end is not in sight yet; everything is still just evolving; we’re in the middle of all this and have the chance to be drawn in further, further and still further... and even further still...“
The fact that my paintings appeal to people gives me the greatest inspiration to continue to create!
I work with oil and mixed media on canvas. Whereas my initial works were compositionally dense and colourful; now, I am increasingly striving for nuanced refinements, spatiality and outstanding media, which best allow me to express my inner feelings. I like large-formats and sense of incompleteness...
